DESCRIPTION:You are a wonderful note in the Song of the Universe. Our voice is sacred. Do not be afraid to sing. Your voice is your soul’s expression. It has it’s own signature\, no one has a voice like you. As each one of us “tunes in” and “tunes up” we collectively create harmony in the symphony of the earths song. \n  \nWe have all been given a magical word\, our name. Our name is sacred as it holds energy of our essence\, challenges and expansion for our lifetime. We will explore this energy and the sounds in our names through chant\, vowels\, consonants and rhythmic patterns. This will give us a foundation and inspiration for our own personal chant. \n  \nFun exercises to restore childlike spontaneity and creativity will be utilized. Once each simple sound structure has been modeled\, you will be invited to delve into the sacred sounds of your name. The Indian shruti box\, monochord and frame drum will support and accompany your sound explorations. Skills will be demonstrated on creating your personal chant. A melody will appear inspired from the sound name journeying. DESCRIPTION:In this class we will learn Chinese Medicine\, 6 Healing Sounds\, used to harmonize the emotional\, physical and spiritual body. We will also learn some Eden Energy postures to stimulate the vagus nerve and balance the nervous system while making the sounds. SpiritArts 4/step process will be incorporated for more flow\, free play and fun as we will improvise with these sounds and others for connection and creativity. \n6 Healing Sounds\nThrough specific sound vibrations\, the six healing sounds support the healing of our emotions as well as detoxify and strengthen our organs. The sound vibrations clear energy patterns in the nervous system. In traditional Chinese medicine emotions and physical health are connected in a loop where emotions impact the health of the body and vice versa just like the vagus nerve. \nVagus Nerve\nThe vagus nerve is the mind/body connector\, as it communicates bi-directionally from the brain to the belly including branches to the organs in between. It helps regulate most bodily functions necessary for our health and emotional well-being. It regulates the nervous system and oversees immune response\, digestion\, and heart rate. It is a main component of the parasympathetic nervous system. Vagal tone regulates stress responses and can be influenced by breathing and singing. \nEnergy Medicine\nEnergy is the foundation for the health of the mind and body.
